2. Permissions Usage

The app uses Android’s built-in System Photo Picker, allowing users to safely choose videos and images for editing. This ensures SmartCut does not require direct file system access — you control which media is shared with the app.

However, to enable complete functionality, the app may request the following permissions:

• 🌐 INTERNET – To connect to servers, load online resources, and display ads.
  This permission is used only for essential app operations such as fetching online content or showing ads. No personal browsing data or files are collected.
• 📶 ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE & ACCESS_WIFI_STATE – To check network status and determine Wi-Fi availability.
  This permission optimizes app behavior (e.g., pausing downloads during poor connectivity). No private or identifiable data is accessed.
• 🔄 CHANGE_NETWORK_STATE – To manage transitions between Wi-Fi and mobile data for a smoother experience.
  The app does not modify your system network settings or collect any connection history.
• 💾 WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 9 and below) – To export and save edited videos or projects.
  ⚠️ Disclaimer: Files are stored only on your device and are not uploaded or shared externally.
• 📂 READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 12 and below) – To import files for editing on older Android versions.
  ⚠️ Disclaimer: Access is limited to media files you select for editing. The app does not scan or collect unrelated files.
• 🎵 READ_MEDIA_AUDIO – To import audio files from your device to use as background music or sound effects in your videos.
  ⚠️ Disclaimer: This access is strictly for adding audio to video edits. We do not store or share your audio or video files.
• 🔔 POST_NOTIFICATIONS – To alert users when exports are complete or when app updates are available.
  Notifications are used only for app-related updates and never for promotional spam.

🔒 Note: These permissions are solely for importing, editing, and exporting media. SmartCut does not collect, store, or transmit personal data through these permissions.

3. Log Data

Crash logs collected via Firebase Crashlytics may include non-personal technical details such as device model, OS version, and timestamp. This information helps us fix bugs and improve performance.

4. Third-Party Services

• User Acquisition: Google Ads

5. In-App Purchases

Premium features may be available through in-app purchases (IAPs). All transactions are securely processed by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store any payment or banking data. All billing and purchase handling is managed solely by Google.
